Here I will review several products that claim to reduce stress and stress symptoms: The Mindfulness Solution. The Mindfulness Solution is the brainchild of my friend and colleague Dr. Peter Salovey, and is sold in the United States through his book, Stress: How to Overcome It and Live a Happy Life. (Amazon is a good place to buy the book at a discount, since it is an online store that has free shipping, and it is a lot of fun.) The Mindfulness Solution, as described in the book, is: "A simple mindfulness program developed by a medical doctor, and used by thousands of people for the purpose of stress management." This is the best description of the Mindfulness Solution that I could find online. In the beginning it seems like a good idea, to learn mindfulness by simply sitting quietly in the shower. After a few weeks you will be surprised at how many different effects you can feel from this simple program, including a decrease in stress. I believe that this is the best way to start learning mindfulness, but this was not my experience at all. I have heard a lot of people that use the Mindfulness Solution for this purpose, but I could not find any actual results.
